The company was founded in 1967 by Rolando Sturlini in Florence, Tuscany. He is assisted by his wife Anne and their son Alessio, making it a true family business. Long before that, dating back to the Middle Ages, the Sturlini family had been making shoes during the Medici era, a family to which they are related through the marriage of two of their respective ancestors.
Sturlini initially specialized in the production of moccasins, which allowed them to become known worldwide as creators of high-quality footwear. Their business subsequently diversified to include the production of classic ankle boots, Chelsea boots and derbies, among others, all handmade in a classic Italian style with original and innovative designs.
